Rate types allow you to create infinitely flexible pricing options. When you install BuddyClients, you will by default have per word and hourly rate types. But you can create as many rate types as you need for your business, such as per page, per item, per day, etc.
For each rate type, you will add a singular and plural label, such as Day and Days, and a description for the form field.
Then you will choose whether to attach the count to the project or the service. If you attach the count to the project, clients will only be prompted to enter the number once on the booking form and the count will apply to all relevant services. However, if you attach the count to the service, the client will be prompted to enter a count for each service that uses that rate type.
For example, if you attach the per word rate type to the service and the services proofreading and copyediting use the per word rate type, the client would see fields labeled “Word Count – Proofreading” and “Word Count – Copyediting.” If you attach the rate type to the project, the client would see only a “Word Count” field, and the entered word count would apply to both services.
You can also add a minimum count for the rate type. For example, you may require clients to book at least three hours for your hourly rate type.
